I’ve been following you since I gave up on the legacy media’s non-stop bashing of Trump, early in his first term. I just wanted to hear from someone with an honest take. Criticize Trump when warranted (and there is plenty to criticize), but give the dude some credit when deserved.
Trump complained about how politicians were not smart with our fiscal resources for decades. When asked if he would run for president he always said something like, ”No. it is an ugly business and I’m having fun. But maybe, if it ever got bad enough, I might.”
Trump has sacrificed a lot to help correct what he and many others see as national problems. What other president has donated their compensation?
Musk endorsing Trump is as irrelevant as any celebrity endorsement. Pretty sure all celebrities were lined up behind HRC in 2016. She outspent Trump, too. So, it isn’t about money either.
Think what you like about the security of the 2020 election process, but there were a lot of mail in ballots floating around. And juuuust enough came in for Biden to win, in one of the most unusual delayed results of recent times. Trump got a lot more votes than 2016. So, despite a very significant increase in votes, Trump “lost”. And to who? A politician long self-described as “dumb”. A old dude who was already being observed as reduced in mental acuity. Though, like any disagreement with Obama’s policies were met with accusations of racism by the legacy media, so too did the legacy media decry any observations of Biden’s mental state with reassurances, “He has always had a stutter.”
So, for many of us, the thought of an incapable president is nothing new. We’ve had one the last 4 years. Put in place by the CIA. Like Putin inferred to Carlson, “CIA runs the show in the U.S.”
And no, the race is not in a dead heat. That is just how the legacy media portrays it. And we all know why. They can’t stand Trump. They have sacrificed their objectivity and credibility in an effort to take him down.
Most who vote Trump aren’t brown-nosing MAGATs. We see through the lies and know the emperor has no clothes, despite all the societal influences confirming the beauty of the non-existant raiment.
Finally had a chance to read this. Still working through the mess that is Western North Carolina. Plenty of help from around the country, but even more work to do.
Your point about alpha dog dictators is one of the most telling. An egotistical eccentric may be more what is needed than the woke American ideology that doesn’t translate across borders or oceans.
I agree some people are just hard to classify as anything. They do what they want and do it well.
Dealing with FEMA and seeing what private and church groups are doing is a stark contrast. One that can open some otherwise closed eyes.
Still comes down to personal opinion on how the last 4 years have been vs the 4 before that.
Musk has certainly become controversial, but nearly everyone is quiet on the fact that Harris and Trump are both backing no taxes on tips in the wake of the Supreme Court Decision in the Snyder Vs US case.
Absolutely true, correct. It's most likely that she will not speak badly about her boss especially while he is still her boss. We've all been there. Thanks Dave.
You pretty much have voiced my thoughts and fears that i have been grappling with ever since Musk went MAGA. I too have had a deep admiration for the man for many years and have always said that what this country needed was 10 more Elon Musks.
My progressive friends have angrily dismissed this as naive idol worship, insisting that Musk never actually invented anything, but stole all of his ideas from others. Well even if there is some truth to that, he has, as you so skillfully point out, created two thriving industries that frankly did not look like they would emerge for another couple decades.
But, now I can barely look at him. For a mind like that to join this cult is so disheartening that I have to turn my attention elsewhere.
I think Kamala is going to win this election. That makes me not only worry how DT and the maga world will react, but how EM will.
Dale, I remember 2016. I had friends that hauled their kids up onto freeways to protest the results of the presidential election. Remind me again of the nationwide MAGA reaction to 2020? Please, do not be driven by your fears. You give too much power to the societal influences which foster those fears.
Good thoughts. With respect to Musk perhaps using others' ideas, think of it as a deck of playing cards. Some people can arrange a better hand than others while playing "tha game." Bad or wrong, nah, just smart or lucky, but Musk's track record squashes lucky.
Appreciate you sharing your perspective, Dave.

Harris would be a nightmare. Musk is doing the right thing regardless of his personal motives.

And let's not forget that Biden (and with guilt by association Harris) snubbed Musk for the big USA Automakers pow-wow about a year(?) ago.
Guilt by association can be an inexact science.

It won’t be boring
